Rush Miller Foundation - Tandem Bike Donation
MSAB would like to thank the for their generous donation of 2 tandem bikes. Eric Miller has a blind son and is donating between 150-300 bikes through the Rush Miller Foundation in memory of Jim Owens, a close friend from Minneapolis. Jim died recently. Jim was an avid cyclist who raised money for various organizations including the Lance Armstrong drive for cancer research ($100,000). The foundations goal is to donate bikes to every blind school in the USA and 89 other organizations including the VA. Ultimately, they would like to establish an annual Tandemonium Day. They have donated tandems to individuals before. However, this is their biggest donation in history. Also, this was the largest order of tandem bikes in history. The bikes are supplied by Cannondale. Other individuals and groups associated with this project include: Rudy projects, and Kurt Warner whose son is visually impaired. Eric’s hope/goal is to make this the largest impact on blind sports. The Rush Miller Foundation hopes to provide an opportunity to someone who has never had the chance to ride before and hopefully, someone will be motivated to continue riding and eventually compete in the Paralympics some day.
