MSAB Alumni - The Way To Stay In Touch
Who is Eligible
Anyone who has ever attended the Minnesota Academy for the Blind as a full-time student is automatically an alumnus of the school. You need not have graduated in order to be among us.
The MSAB Alumni Association offers a number of ways for former students of the academy to network with others who have previously attended.
The Alumni Chat
One way to stay in touch with former classmates, while learning about events taking place at the Academy is the Alumni Chat. The Alumni chat is a teleconference call which occurs at 7:00 P.M. central time on the second Sunday of each month accept for May, when we convene on the third Sunday of the month.
If you wish to participate, do the following.
- Call 305-848-8888. You will be welcomed to the Magic Jack conference service.
- Press 1 to join a conference.
- You will be asked to enter the conference number. At that point, enter 275-675-2541. You will be welcomed into the conference with a message which will tell you how many callers are present.
We have had alumni call in from around the world, who have attended the Academy during a considerable span of time, from the 1940’s to the 2000’s. Occasionally, the chat will feature special guests from the Academy.
Alumni Gatherings
The MSAB Alumni convenes once every three years. These meetings have in the past, taken place at the Academy itself, and have generally occurred during a weekend immediately following the graduation ceremony of that year.
